In October 2005 Werner Kranwetvogel had the opportunity to visit the Arirang Mass Games on two occasions. All pictures presented in the book were being shot during these two shows from a common seat. None of the pictures are staged, they are all shot without tripod "out of the hand". But from this simple viewers perspective he created a really spectacular series of pictures, which shows on the one hand tremendous and most spectacular wide shots with thousands of synchronized performers. But really impressing are the close shots of the dancers, which are isolated in the crowd. This outstanding series of pictures shows the ambivalent fascination of the mass aesthetics in a unique way.
